And unless you have been living in a cave for the last week…Avatar Reached $1.1 Billion Worldwide. That makes it the fastest grossing film in the history of forever. Fox have released official international numbers for Avatar. The current total is $735,343,853 in international receipts for a worldwide total of $1,102,880,538. That’s just $30 million behind Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, which it will pass in the next two days or so to become the second highest grossing movie in history (see chart).

All that said…GO SEE IT! It has something for everyone. It has space and special effects (for the scifi geeks), a good message about mother Earth (for the enviro-friendly), and romance (for the women who are unwilling to compromise with their dates and go see the weird-large-blue-people-movie). And while you can’t find it on YouTube (WHAT?!!) – it does find itself in the Google rankings with The Last Airbender (M. Night).
